The story behind the platform
We built a custom home in Red Lodge, Montana. We had a skilled, well-respected builder. We created a comprehensive slide deck — color palettes, inspiration photos, arrow callouts, pricing screenshots — everything our builder needed to communicate our vision to every person on the team.
The painter stained our doors dark brown. We had specified white oak. Clearly. With photos. In the slide deck nobody had shared with him.
Our builder absorbed the cost of redoing every door — a cost that was not his fault, and was not ours either. It was the fault of a system that did not exist.

We built BuilderHub because we watched good builders get buried in the administrative weight of a job — not because they weren't skilled, but because the tools available to them were never designed for how construction actually works.
Start with your Dashboard. The moment you create a project and invite your team, you'll see a real-time health score that reflects where things truly stand. Set up your budget line items first — even rough numbers are better than none — so your draw packages nearly write themselves when the time comes.
Upload your floor plans to the Visual Canvas and draw your trade zones. When your subs log in, they'll see exactly which areas belong to them without a single phone call. Use the Phase Checklists to run each phase to completion. The punch list, the photo library, the messaging hub — it's all connected. Nothing lives in a text thread.

Building a custom home is one of the most significant things you will ever do. It is also one of the most disorienting. You've made a significant financial investment, you have a strong vision, and yet — for stretches of the build — you may feel completely in the dark about what's happening and whether everything is going the way you imagined.
I know this firsthand. We built our home in Red Lodge, Montana, and despite doing everything right — detailed slide decks, clear specifications, great communication with our builder — a miscommunication between our builder and a subcontractor cost everyone time and money. Not because anyone was careless. Because there was no shared system.
Your BuilderHub portal is designed specifically for you. Start by exploring your Vision Board — upload images from Pinterest, Houzz, magazines, or your own photos. Organize them by room and add notes about what specifically you love. Your builder will use this to guide every finish conversation.
Check your Decisions Center regularly. Delayed selections are the number one cause of schedule slippage in residential construction. When something is waiting for your input, it's waiting for a reason. Your phase guides will explain what's happening at each stage in plain English — no construction background required.

Subcontractors in BuilderHub have a streamlined, no-clutter workspace tailored to their trade. You see your tasks, your plans, your messages, and your pay milestones — nothing more, nothing less. No navigating through irrelevant features or filtering out noise. BuilderHub respects your time on the job site.

Your time is valuable, and your expertise is what makes a project real. We built the subcontractor experience in BuilderHub with one goal: get out of your way. You shouldn't have to navigate through features that have nothing to do with your trade. You shouldn't have to chase a builder on three different apps to find out what's expected of you this week. And you definitely shouldn't have to wonder when you're getting paid.
When you log in, your Work Today dashboard shows exactly what's on your plate — filtered to your trade, prioritized by due date. Tap for directions to the job site. Check your messages. See where your payment milestones stand.
When you complete a task, submit a photo directly in the platform. That photo goes to your builder for approval immediately — no phone call required, no follow-up text asking if it's done. The record is clean and timestamped.
Your floor plan view shows exactly which zones are yours. Your punch list shows only the items assigned to your trade. Everything is scoped to your work so nothing in this app ever wastes your time.
